Hello! My name is Pamela Frontiera. I teach for the Chippewa Valley School District at Shawnee Elementary. I teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students who have cognitive impairments. While completing my student teaching I encountered many students with ASD, which made me very interested in the subject. Therefore I am getting endorsed in ASD. I have three classes left until I will obtain my Masters with an endorsement in ASD. My most memorable moment so far in my career is completing my first year of teaching! I have learned so much and can’t wait to make adjustments for next year! Advice I would give someone who is going into the area of Autism Spectrum Disorder is no two children with ASD are the same; just because one strategy works with one child doesn’t mean it will work with another!

"Autism is a complex developmental disability that typically appears during the first three years of life and is the result of a neurological disorder that affects the normal functioning of the brain, impacting development in the areas of social interaction and communication skills" (http://www.autism-society.org/site/PageServer?pagename=about_whatis_home).
